The Dalton Theory
John Dalton (1766-1844) was an english scholar and teacher who contributed immensly to the developement of the atomic theory. He published his theory in 1808.

- All matter is made up of invisible atoms
- These atoms can't be created, destroyed or divided
- Atoms of the same element are identical in mass and size but different from the other atoms of other elements
- Different element atoms combined together to form compounds
- Chemical reactions change the way atoms are grouped, not the actual atom itself.
Billiard Balls
Dalton said all matter was made of atoms which looked like a sphere.
The analogy of his model of the atom is referred to as "billiard balls".
